Mike Moeller Represents P&W at U.S.-India Industry Trade Meeting

Retired Lt. Gen. Mike Moeller, vice president, Business Development and International Programs, Pratt & Whitney Military Engines, met with Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar and about two dozen members of industry to discuss the prospects of future U.S.-India defense trade agreements. The "working dinner" was hosted at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.

Other U.S. industry representatives at the event included executives from BAE, Boeing, General Electric, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Orbital ATK, Raytheon and Rolls-Royce. Diplomatic participants from India also included senior leaders from the Navy, Air Force and the Indian Embassy.

The conversation revolved around Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Make in India" initiative, the goals of which are to shift significant production and manufacturing opportunities into India.

"This event was a great opportunity for us to engage with India's Defense Minister and other industry partners," Moeller said. "The visit included a productive discussion centered on expanding U.S.-India defense trade and developing partnerships that will set up Indian and U.S. industry for long-term success in the security arena."
