Pratt & Whitney Dragon Boaters Paddle for a Cause

Recently, more than 40 Pratt & Whitney employees competed in Hartford's annual Dragon Boat & Asian festival hosted by the non-profit Riverfront Recapture. Pratt & Whitney sponsored two boats whose paddlers raised money for the United Way.
Brittany Alphonse: So, we're competing in the dragon boat races here. We have two different teams for Pratt & Whitney. We have PurePower then we have the Flying Dragons. Since Pratt & Whitney sponsors our boats, we raise money for the United Way.
Luis Alvarez: Our goal was $2,800 and we've surpassed that with about $3,400, so we feel good about that, plus we're having fun here.
Brittany Alphonse: If you go up there, there's different kind of dances, they have all this music, karate, and you can try all these different foods from all over the place. There's a good mix of being out on the water and experiencing all new things.
Congratulations to Pratt & Whitney PurePower who finished third in their final heat and the Flying Dragons who placed in the A division.
