Air Force Officials Celebrate F-35A IOC

Hear comments from Gen. David Goldfein, Deborah Lee James and Col. David Lyons in excerpts from the F-35A IOC event at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. The F-35A Lightning II was declared "combat ready" earlier this week.

 

Gen. David L. Goldfein, chief of staff, United States Air Force: "I have a message to our adversaries. It sucks to be you."

The Honorable Deborah Lee James, secretary of the Air Force: "Ladies and gentlemen, yours and my F-35A Lightning is ready for combat, and it is ready for duty, yes sir! The F-35 will now provide our country with unmatched advantaged, unparalleled technology, and most importantly, top-notch people."

Col. David Lyons, commander, 388th Fighter Wing: "Make no mistake, it is extremely capable today, but it's going to be an absolute monster in the years to come."
