Pratt & Whitney Engineering Leader Makes Passenger Flight on IndiGo A320neo

Tom Prete, vice president, Engineering, took a two-hour passenger flight from New Delhi to Bangalore, India, on July 11 aboard an A320neo powered by Pratt & Whitney's PurePower® Geared Turbofan™ PW1100G-JM engine. Prete is in India this week meeting customers and suppliers, inaugurating a Center of Excellence with Cyient and opening three e-learning centers for local students sponsored by Pratt & Whitney, UTC and supplier partners.

The IndiGo cabin crew told Prete, "We love working on this plane because of how quiet the engines are – especially during takeoff and landing. It makes it easier to serve our passengers." The pilot recognized the noticeably low fuel consumption and remarkable climb performance along with the thrust response; he applauded Pratt & Whitney for developing a commendable engine.
