Akubuiro Speaks at National Association of Black Journalists' Midwest Summit

Bradley Akubuiro, communications program manager for Pratt & Whitney Military Engines, spoke to an audience of practicing African-American journalists and journalism students during the National Association of Black Journalists' Midwest Summit in Evanston, Illinois.
"It shouldn't be an adversarial relationship," he said of the connection between journalists and PR professionals. "Given the way we're resourced on both sides, neither of us can be successful without the other, but together we can tell stories that change the world."
The summit, which featured presentations from such professionals as Kierna Mayo, editor-in-chief of Ebony Magazine, and Todd Johnson, managing editor of The Grio, was hosted on the campus of Northwestern University's Medill School of journalism.
