West Palm Beach Engineers' Council Honors Pratt & Whitney Engineers at Annual Awards Banquet
WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, THURSDAY, MARCH 3, 2016
Pratt & Whitney and the West Palm Beach Chapter of The Engineers' Council recognized engineers in honor of National Engineers Week, which is held the week of Feb. 22, at their annual banquet in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
This year the Engineers' Council recognized three Pratt & Whitney engineers for Outstanding Engineering Achievement:
Mark LaCour, principal engineer, Systems Integration, recognized for excellent leadership of the Airbus A320neo Engine Control Systems Integration team, outstanding support of the Airbus Flight Test program and developing engineering talent through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Matt Donald, staff engineer, Dynamic Systems Analysis, recognized for outstanding contributions towards the development of innovative jet engine control algorithms, the design of the Constrained Model Based Control System and the development of engineering talent through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Luis Muniz, manager, Military Controls, recognized for outstanding leadership of the Pratt & Whitney Adaptive Engine Technology Demonstrator (AETD) program, contributions towards maturing advanced technologies and developing Engineering talent through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
The Engineers' Council also recognized the FT4000 Industrial Engine Hot Section Module Design & Development Team for a Distinguished Engineering Project Achievement Award. The team designed and developed the hot section for a new FT4000 aero-derivative industrial turbine engine resulting in best-in-class emissions, lowest cost of power generation and one year from first engine to grid power. Team members include: Albert Veninger, Kenneth Boucher, Conway Chuong, Rich Miller, William Doehnert, Stephen Lindahl, Wayne Pegram, Michel Price, Richard Seleski, David Shapiro, Nathan Shirk, Craig Smith, Stephanie Tanner, Henry Webster, David Wiley and Kevin White.

The Engineers' Council is a not-for-profit organization, based in California with a local chapter in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Engineers Council in partnership with the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County held the local annual awards banquet.
