Pratt & Whitney Contributes $25,000 to USO-Metro in Support of Veterans, Service Members

Bennett Croswell, Pratt & Whitney's president of Military Engines, presented a check for $25,000 to officials of the United Service Organizations, Inc. of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore (USO-Metro) at a ceremony held in Washington, D.C., June 25. The donation is to support operating costs for the USO lounge in Reagan National Airport – a space which provides comfortable seating, reading material, TV, snacks, and Internet access to military veterans, service members, and their families free of charge.

The USO-Metro serves the greater Washington-Baltimore area, which has the highest population of military in the world – over 500,000 – and the highest population of wounded, injured and ill service members in the nation.

"We are honored to be a partner with the USO-Metro in supporting our nation's veterans, service members and their families," said Croswell.

Pratt & Whitney is one of four co-level sponsors, which include General Dynamics IT, CenturyLink and Verizon. As of March 2015, Pratt & Whitney is also a member of the board of the USO-Metro. The USO lounge at Reagan National Airport services approximately 30,000 visitors a year.
