HMI Metal Powders Supports Local High School's Green Initiative

HMI Metal Powders recently partnered with the Sauquoit Valley School District's National Honor Society for the annual Green Apple Day of Service in Clayville, New York. At this event individuals, organizations and companies worked together with local schools to create a cleaner environment.

HMI supported a can and bottle drive by collecting returnables and asking employees to do the same throughout the facility. Collection boxes were placed at the facility's entrances for anyone to participate.

Some employees volunteered at the event in October by collecting bottles and cans that were left outside around the community. Afterward, volunteers brought all the collected returnables to the area's recycling center where the students helped with the processing.

Together, both HMI and students were able to collect 8,000 cans and raise hundreds of dollars, which was donated to the school's honor society and will fund future school events.
