Pratt & Whitney Statement on Mitsubishi Regional Jet Rollout

Pratt & Whitney congratulates Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation on the rollout and completion of the first Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ). Both companies designed and developed the Geared Turbofan™ (GTF) engine for the MRJ after Mitsubishi became the first customer of the PurePower® series of engines. Pratt & Whitney is proud to be part of the MRJ program and remains committed to delivering a best-in-class engine for the regional jet aircraft market.

The PurePower PW1200G engine for the MRJ is part of a family which has more than 11,000 hours of testing, including 1,500 hours of flight testing and more than 23,000 cycles of testing. The technology in the PurePower GTF engine allows for double-digit improvements in fuel burn, noise and emissions.
