P&W Engineer Ebad Jahangir Named AIAA Associate Fellow

For his "notable and valuable contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics", Pratt & Whitney's Dr. Ebad Jahangir, discipline chief, Systems Integration, Propulsion Systems Analysis was elected an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Jahangir was formally recognized at the AIAA Associate Fellow Dinner held in Maryland last month.

"To be named an associate fellow by the AIAA is an unexpected honor," said Jahangir. "I joined the AIAA as a student member in 1984 and am honored by their recognition of my work in the field of aerospace engineering."

Jahangir has more than 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry, including service with the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization. He joined Pratt & Whitney in 1999 and currently leads product integrity and process improvements across Systems Analysis & Aerodynamics disciplines including Operability, Performance, Modeling, Systems Analysis and Validation, and Controls and Diagnostic Systems.

"Ebad is a fantastic engineer and a valuable asset to Pratt & Whitney," said Tom Prete, vice president, Engineering. "Pratt & Whitney is home to the world's most innovative engineers, and honors like this show that the world recognizes their extraordinary contributions."

Jahangir received a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in aerospace engineering and holds master's degrees from both the University of Michigan and MIT in aerospace engineering and systems design and management.

The AIAA is the world's preeminent aerospace technical society, with more than 35,000 individual members and 90 corporate members.
