Senator Blumenthal Flies F-35 Simulator at P&W Middletown Engine Center

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal visited the Pratt & Whitney Middletown, Conn., facility on Aug. 5. During his visit, hosted by Chief Operating Officer Paul Adams, Blumenthal spoke with employees and experienced the F-35 Lightning II simulator on site. The Pratt & Whitney F135 engine is exclusive power for the Lightning II.

Blumenthal toured Middletown's production, validation and test facilities and expressed his admiration for the dedicated work by all Pratt & Whitney employees.

"The Joint Strike Fighter program is critical to our nation's defense, and I strongly support it. The Pratt & Whitney team should be justifiably proud of their role in making the superb F135 engine for our airmen, naval aviators and Marines," said Senator Blumenthal. "Simply put, the aircraft engines made in Middletown, Connecticut, are unsurpassed. Having seen firsthand the extraordinary skill of their workforce, and quality testing and inspection at every phase, I understand why Pratt's engines are a technological marvel."
