Pratt & Whitney Forms Quality Partnership with CCSU through Scholarship Program
Pratt & Whitney recently developed a scholarship program with Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) designed to build awareness of careers in the aerospace quality engineering field.
"Pratt & Whitney has a bright future in front of us, as we ramp up to deliver the engines in our Next Generation Product Family and F135," said Mary Anne Cannon, vice president of Quality and EH&S. "To deliver perfect quality that our customers demand, we will need trained, proficient quality engineers. Our partnership with CCSU will help us develop a pipeline of future Quality professionals."
In addition to the scholarship support, the program will provide academic advisement and mentoring, career and business expertise, job shadowing opportunities and summer and/or academic year work experiences.
CCSU was chosen because the university has a strong industrial engineering program that is well aligned with quality and will provide for developing future Pratt & Whitney quality engineering talent, said Michael Wilson, senior fellow discipline lead, Quality.
"This is a historic partnership, as we are not aware of any other aerospace quality engineering scholarship program like this," he said. "This program will help us prepare students to be Quality engineers and make sure they are on-the-job ready."
