STEM Education and Nonprofit Partners
Uplifting students means enabling nonprofits to do their best work. Pratt & Whitney partners with hundreds of organizations focused on STEM around the world to make science, technology, engineering and math accessible to all students. We also engage with Raytheon Technologies’ Strategic Partners to create meaningful STEM experiences for students...from internships to mentorships.
Pratt & Whitney E-STEM Awards
Pratt & Whitney’s sustainable aviation solutions use science, technology, engineering, mathematics to solve environmental challenges. We want to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers to take this “E-STEM” approach to the challenges our planet faces. That’s why we have partnered with the North American Association of Environmental Education (NAAEE) to roll out the P&W E-STEM Awards– a global initiative that provides funding to nonprofits engaged in E-STEM education programs. Universities
To help uplift those underrepresented in the field of STEM, Pratt & Whitney collaborates with a variety of universities to support diversity, equity and inclusion in the field, whether it be through scholarships, equipment donations, or mentorship programs. For example, The University of Connecticut hosts the Pratt & Whitney Scholars program, where undergraduate engineering students who have been historically underrepresented in engineering can apply for scholarship and entrance into a unique cohort of alumni and Pratt & Whitney mentors.
Aviation Valley Education Foundation
Nestled in southeastern Poland is the Aviation Valley Foundation, an organization created by aviation companies in the region to help create accessible STEM education opportunities to Polish youth. Pratt & Whitney is one of the largest supporters of the Foundation and has helped to support various programs—from classroom career visits to a new RoboLab where budding engineers can design their own robots!
