Pratt & Whitney’s new state-of-the-art Engineering & Technology Center has 425,000 square feet of space and will accommodate up to 1,750 employees. It is the largest building on the East Hartford campus, and set at a 28 degree angle to allow for a perfect view of the Hartford skyline and surrounding areas. The new building was designed with extensive feedback from engineers to ensure more open collaboration. The facility has 100 conference rooms, eight mothers rooms, four mediations rooms, and a cafeteria that can accommodate approximately 500 employees at a time. The building is being considered for LEED Gold certification, due to sustainable construction practices and many other environmentally friendly features, such as all LED lighting and daylight harvesting.
