Cleaner Fuel
Reducing our dependence on fossil-based fuels is of central importance to achieving net zero CO2 emissions for aviation by 2050. So we are advancing the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs) – through extensive work on testing and certification – while developing technologies for zero carbon, alternative fuels, like hydrogen.

The Road to Net Zero Emissions by 2050

Pratt & Whitney is committed to supporting its customers achieve the industry-wide commitment of net zero air transport CO2 emissions by 2050. Getting there will take a range of measures, including the smarter technologies and cleaner fuels we are driving forward.
Offsetting Aircraft’s Carbon Footprint
Our journey to net zero will also be aided by market-based measures, including carbon offsetting measures. That’s why we chose to launch a Carbon Offset Service for our Pratt & Whitney Canada business jet, general and regional aircraft and helicopter customers – the first service of its kind to be offered by an engine maker.
