Lisa Szewczul

VP, EH&S and Global Security

Lisa Szewczul was named Pratt & Whitney’s Environment, Health & Safety and Global Security vice president in June 2016.

She has more than 35 years of industry experience, including as United Technologies Corporation’s first director of EH&S.

Prior to joining Pratt & Whitney, she was vice president of EH&S for Collins Aerospace (formerly UTC Aerospace Systems and Hamilton Sundstrand) for 17 years and at Otis Elevator for eight years. Lisa joined UTC in 1981 as a chemist developing analytical methods for detecting pollutants in machining oils, air and water. She also has experience in industrial relations and employee communications.

In 2012, then-UTC Aerospace Systems acquired Goodrich. Under Lisa’s leadership, the company reduced its global total recordable and lost workday incident rates by 62 percent and 78 percent, respectively, between 2012 and 2015. The company also reduced air emissions by 36 percent and waste by 23 percent.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Providence College and an MBA from the University of Hartford. She is also certified in industrial hygiene chemistry by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and chaired the industry advisory board for the Academy of Engineering & Green Technology in Hartford, Connecticut, on behalf of United Technologies Corporation from 2008-2018. Lisa received the 2018 Leadership Award from the New England Women in Energy and the Environment for her work in sustainability. She also received the Pinnock Hartford County Community Commitment Award in 2016.
